International Socio-Economic Index for class from ISCO-88 codes

Hi everyone,
I'm a 1st year Politics PhD student at the University of Southampton, attempting to use Understanding Society to analyse the relationship between occupational mobility and political attitudes.

I understand that ISCO codes are needed to compute it, and I'm pretty sure this isn't possible on Understanding Society, but I thought I'd come here to see if anyone knew for certain!

Hi George,
You can use the ISCO-88 version of the occupation variables, jbisco88_cc Current job: ISCO88 (condensed 3 digits version) and jlisco88_cc Last job: ISCO88 (condensed 3 digits version). If you need the 4-digit version, then you need to apply for the Special Licence version of the dataset: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/access-data
