To whom it may concern
I would like to conduct a study comparing women with children (group 1) to women without children (group 2). What are the variables that might help me define each group and what is the response rate to these variables?

Dear Amwaj,
You can use nchild_dv which gives you the number of own children in the household, including natural children, adopted children and step children, under age of 16. You can also consider using ndepchl_dv, depending on what you need for your research question. Ndepchl_dv gives you the number of own dependent children in the household. This uses the Department for Work and Pension (DWP)'s definition of a dependent child.
