Hello,
This is similar to #1321 which I recently opened (i.e. a discrepancy between the long-term content plan and the available data), but hopefully different enough that you can excuse my opening a new issue.
The module 'Positive and Negative Events' is, according to the long-term content plan, included in the adult questionnaire at waves 2, 5, 7, 8, and 9. However I can't find any data from waves 7-9 from this module. The index term 'Life Events' (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/search/term/life-events) shows the variables event1 etc. for waves 2 and 5, but nothing equivalent from 7-9.
Is the long-term content plan mistaken? Was it not followed? (posnegevents_w7 and posnegevents_w9 are listed among the questionnaire modules in the online documentation). Is there any possibility of accessing the data from these modules, if they were in fact included?

I'm answering this question first, as it's the more straight forward one!
We don't release data from this module as it's fielded to improve the respondent experience and help interviewers build and maintain rapport. In recognition that we ask a lot of questions in the survey that are important from a researcher perspective, but might not be the most important priorities for our respondents, the module offers the chance for respondents to tell us about anything that they feel is has importantly happened since their last interview. The reason we don't release the data is a pragmatic one- it's a free text area and would be too resource intensive to check that the data for anything disclosive and then code it.
