I am looking for a concordance from the SIC 1980 used in the BHPS to more recent industry classification schemes, such as the SIC 2007.

There are three documents here which could help you: Correlation between SIC 1980 and 1992, Table of changes between the UK SIC 1992 and UK SIC 2003 and Correlation between UK SIC 2003 and UK SIC 2007, found at the bottom of the page. However, you may find a lot of codes with no match because there are fairly major differences between the classifications.
