R users, scaling UKHLS for use with BHPS

Description
Hello,
1. I am an R user and wondered whether there are any online courses/discussion groups (Understanding Society) for R users who use either UKHLS or BHPS data.
2. Also I am conducting analyses with the BHPS and UKHLS datasets combined. Does anyone know how to scale the UKHLS so that it can be combined with the BHPS?
3. Finally, I have been looking at the longitudinal weights for the BHPS (obtained from wave 18). Is there a reason why there are cases where one given individual possesses both a respondent longitudinal weight and an enumerated longitudinal weight?

Many thanks for your enquiry.
Q1. We are not aware of any such user groups. In the future we will develop training material in R but that is not available now. The online Moodle course on “Using Understanding Society Using Stata” while geared towards Stata users, it includes some initial modules about the survey and its online documentation. Q3. Every person in a responding household is enumerated so they have an enumerated weight. Not everyone who is enumerated also answers the adult questionnaire. If they do then they are assigned a respondent weight. Note longitudinal weights are only available for those who respond continuously.
