Description

Hello:
If I am interested in analyzing data from wave 2, but in my multivariate analyses I would also like to incorporate some independent variables of characteristics that are only available in wave 1 (asked of all adults), I am effectively studying only those respondents who are in both waves: those who are in the General Population sample, the EMB, and the General Population Comparison sample, while the BHPS respondents are excluded.

Since my analysis is cross-sectional but uses data across both waves 1+2 for the independent variables of my analysis, would I need to use the wave 2 longitudinal weight b_indinus_lw rather than b_indinus_xw in order to get the correct population estimates? Thanks!
