Understanding Society User Support

Hi Folks,

I am writing to ask if you could provide some information and examples of jobs for 'Large employers & higher management' and 'Higher professional' for the jbnssec8_dv variable? What are the differences between these jobs? I'm asking as the NS-SEC classification lumps these jobs together so I'm interested to know why they are separated in USoc. The higher management jobs are classed by occupation and not by the position/title of the respondent? For example, if a respondent was an office manager in an intermediate job, this would be classified as 4 for jbnssec8_dv (NS-SEC 3) and not higher management?
