Description
I was wondering if you have any guidance on condensing the education variable (nqfhigh-dv) as I have researched the different categories and cannot find an explanation for some of them and am just wondering how to go about grouping similar education levels together. I am hoping to use it as a covariate variable but at the moment there are too many levels so I want to condense them. Thanks very much for your help!

Please review variable hiqual_dv, which measures the highest qualification ever reported. You can find it in the variable seach section at https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/variables/hiqual_dv/
There, you will find a lookup table showing the corresponding matches between various highest qualification variables, consolidating different classifications.
