openIssue with new USoc variable search

Description
The variable search page on the understanding society website seems to have been updated recently and is no longer working well. I've tried multiple times to search various variables (either by their encoded name e.g. xpoily for oil and gas expenditure) or by using descriptive words, and in all cases I've tried so far the variable doesn't come up.
If it would be possible to try and figure out what's going wrong here, that would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure it would be very helpful for other users if they're facing similar issues.

Hi,
We've just launched a new Understanding Society website and we still have some teething problems. The variable search functionality is unfortunately affected and we are currently working to find a fix for these issues. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime I'd advise looking for the information about variables in the pdfs of the questionnaires (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/questionnaires/) and using the data files.
Best wishes,

Thank you for the prompt reply! This is very helpful. Sorry to pile on - I just thought it was important to draw your attention to it in case you weren't already working on it. Best of luck with the debugging!
