Description
Hi,
I previously asked a question about this (#1955) but wasn't able to clear it up completely.
I was wondering why vote8 wasn't asked of respondents in wave 3 to 6? Am I missing something? This would seem important for those interviewed before the election in wave 2 (and who therefore weren't asked the question) as well as new joiners.
Thanks,
Albert

Dear Albert,
In wave 2 these questions were asked differently than it was done later in the study, that is, only in wave 2 and only of the sample months from May 2010 to December 2010 (If (month = 5 Thru 12)), so we didn't cover the whole sample. In later waves, we did try to ask this question of the whole sample, thus the questions were asked across more than one wave.

Hi,
Thanks for this. So, as I understand, there is no consistent data on vote choice in the survey until wave 7?
Best,
Albert
Hello Albert,
Starting from Wave 7 and continuing through Wave 12, the question regarding the party voted for in the last general election (referred to as "vote8") is consistently included in each wave. As a result, you will have access to a larger sample size. The next wave where this question is scheduled to be asked is Wave 14.
I hope this information is helpful.
Best wishes,
Roberto Cavazos
