Description
Understanding Society states, 'Sample is not selected from institutions such as care homes but if sample members move into care homes they are interviewed if allowed'. How do i find out how many are interviewed in care homes?

Hi Joshua,
To see if the household is in an institution, use dweltyp (hhsamp) for CAPI, and whether the respondent is currently living in an institution use dwltype (indall) for CATI and CAWI and then instdet (indall) to identify what institution this is. However, please note that due to a lot of practical limitations related to interviewing people in institutions, the number of such interviews is very low, so might not be enough for a research project.
Best wishes,
Piotr,
