Description

I have read on your website that 'Respondents aged 16 and over take part in the main adult survey and young people aged 10-15 complete a youth questionnaire' Can you confirm if this is the case for child deprivation questions? - or if an adult of the household would answer the child deprivation questions on behalf of the young person like in the Family Resources Survey?

Thank you

Hello,

If you want to know who gets asked a particular question please refer to the questionnaire. If you look at the Wave 10 questionnaire
"https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/sites/default/files/downloads/documentation/mainstage/questionnaire/wave-10/W10-questionnaire-consultation.pdf"
you will see that the material deprivation questions (matdepa...) are in the household questionnaire and asked of househlds where there is at least one child below 15 years.

To know which questionnaire a question is included look below the question text and you will see a field "Module". In this case it says "Module Household_W10. Household Questionnaire"

To know who gets asked a question, look below the question text and you will see a field "Universe". In this case it says "// One or more children aged 0 to 15 in the household OR no children aged 0 to 15 in the household and nobody of pensionable age in the household"

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
