openImputation flag for income variable fimngrs_dv in BHPS
100%
Description
I am using the income variable fimngrs_dv, which measures the total monthly personal income of a respondent. This income variable is available in both the BHPS and UKHLS, and missing values have been imputed by the Understanding Society team in both surveys (although in slightly different ways). I would like to add a dummy variable to my models that measures whether income was imputed. However, the imputation flag that provides this information (fimngrs_if) is only available for the UKHLS. My question is, therefore, whether there is a way to retrieve if incomes in fimngrs_dv have been imputed also for the BHPS.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Dear Daniël,
Please use the w_fimnthi (Imputation flag - wFIMN (derived)) - fimngrs_dv is named fimn in the unharmonised version of the dataset. It looks like the names and labels for quite a few of these imputation flag variables have not been updated when the data was harmonised.
Best wishes,
Piotr
