How to get access to postcodes?

Description
I'm a postgrad student at LSE and I am wanting to use the understanding society study for my dissertation which has the current working title: "How do differences regarding the lived experience of the UK's rising inequality effect political outcomes?" For this question I would need to know the location of where respondents reside to compare between different parts of the UK. However, within the data I have downloaded it just shows wether respondents have provided postcodes/addresses and I was wondering how I could gain access to these?
Conversely if there are broader variables in the survey like county or something such as this, then this will be equally as fine however I cannot see any such data.
Many thanks!

Hello,
Please check the list of available geographical identifiers: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/linked-data/geographical-identifiers
Most of these variables are available under Special Licence as separate data releases. This means that you need to apply for them separately, when your application is accepted you can download a data file that contains the household identifier hidp and the geographical identifier you applied for, for instance, Local Authority District or Census 2001 Lower Layer Super Output Areas. Then, you can link this information to other Understanding Society data files you are using. Also, please have a look at the different access levels in Understanding Society: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/access-data.
Best wishes,
