Description
I am interested in racel variable for my research.
However, except for wave 1, other waves it is reported as Inapplicable (-8).
I am wondering why that is the case? Is the standard procedure in this case to match wave 1 racel information for the rest of the waves?

Hello,
This question is asked the first time that someone is interviewed and so will be -8 in all subsequent waves. The information reported in different waves by different individuals are collected and provided as a derived variable w_racel_dv - use that instead.
