Description

Hello,

We use the data in a study that examines the gender wage gap, and we would like to have information about whether individuals live in big cities.

I was wondering if there is a relevant variable, or another variable that I can use to construct a variable for our purposes. I did not find such variables when I searched it on my own.

The only variable I found that is close to it is "urban_dv", but the issue is that the cutoff is 10,000 inhabitants, which is too low for our purposes.

We use waves 1-9 of Understanding Society.

Thank you very much!

Hello,

Thank you very much!

I am not sure it is what we need. Is there a way to know in which city individuals live (and we will merge it with city-level population data)?

Thank you,
Lior Shabtai

In order to know the city of residence, you will have to download the SPecial License datafiles for LAD residential codes (SN6666), and then identify the cities using the LAD codes.

Hope this helps.
