Hello, I was just wondering whether or not the EGOALT dataset for the IP Wave 5 data is the most complete set of relationship information there exists for this data. I see in the IP Waves 1-4 User Guide that the EGOALT dataset can be used for household relationship information between any two individuals in the household, so I wanted to be sure this help for the IP Wave 5 data as well

We have processes to clean and correct the file before a release. As you can see for IP1-4 and M1-2, this work results in derived variables for relationships. You can find more about this is in the user guide.

Ah I see, so would it be relatively unsafe to rely on this EGOALT relationship data at this point?

At this stage, it would be advisable to make some checks against the earlier released waves.
