usage of social welfare services

Hi,

I am looking for the data on the usage of social welfare services. Based on the information in the above link, those variables eg. hlsvc are only available in the BHPS but not in the UKHLS. Are those variables not collected any more or are published in other affiliated dataset?

The page you linked to shows that these variables were not collected in Understanding Society. There are some questions on similar topics which you may find useful, which are included in Wave 7 of Understanding Society and are contained in the Social Care (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/7/questionnaire-module/socialcare_w7) and Health Service Use (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/7/questionnaire-module/socialcare_w7) modules. There is also information about hospital stays for newly diagnosed health conditions is part of the Annual Events module from Wave 6 onwards (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/6/questionnaire-module/annualeventhistory_w6).
There is a longer set of questions on health service use and health conditions as part of Wave 10 which is currently in fieldwork.
