Aggregarting results for numbers of users in the sample to user in the population using probability weights

Hello,
I am an analyst working at HM Treasury and I am using the BHPS to estimate the use of health visitors and district nurses.
I am looking at a single wave (wave 18) and trying to calculate from the sample, the total number of people who had been visited by a health visitor or district nurse, across the population.
My question is, how do you apply the probability weights to results from a sample to scale up to get the number of users in a population?
Any help or guidance you may be able to give would be much appreciated!

The question, HLSVA, was asked during the adult face-to-face interview and routed on HLSV. XRWTUK1 is the cross-sectional weight for adult respondents, which has been designed to adjust the responses from the whole sample to UK-wide figures. The BHPS User Guide has more information on the different BHPS samples and weights for different purposes supplied with the data, see e.g. Table 25 on p. 197.
