Description

Hello
I'm a researcher at the University of Sheffield currently working on fuel poverty suffered by people with learning disabilities. I'd be very grateful if you could advise me about accessing a set of relevant cross tabulations within the cross section US Mainstage Household data set. These are between Disdif question 8 (on learning disability) on the one hand and a set of socio/economic characteristics on the other - such as Hsownd (housing tenure). and Duelpay (method of fuel payment).
I am wondering if it is generally possible for a registered user to generate such cross tabulations, or whether this is something that has to be requested - and if so if a provision charge would normally be levied.

Thank you

Bernard Stafford

Dear Bernard,

Many thanks for your message.

We cannot create these cross tabulations, this is something you would need to do yourself.

You can register as a data user and download the mainstage data here: https://discover.ukdataservice.ac.uk/series/?sn=2000053, and you can then perform your cross tabulations.

We also offer in-person and on-line training courses in using Understanding Society data, which may be of interest: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/training

This issue was duplicated in #738 so I will delete the other post.

Best wishes, Victoria.

On behalf of the Understanding Society Data User Support Team.
