Description

Dear UKHLS team,

The variables on the newborn dataset have a large amount of missing data coded as 'inapplicable' (see two examples from wave 5 at the bottom). I've looked into the skip patterns but can't understand why the large numbers. Could you please let me know?

Many thanks!
Laia

Hi Laia,

This question was asked of female respondents where the newborn child lives with the parent. Most of the inapplicables are where the parent/adult respondent is male (N=491). A handful of cases (N=11) are where the child does not live with the parent.

Hope this helps,
Alita
