what is the difference between ethn_dv_all and ethn_dv?

Hi

What is the difference between ethn_dv_all and ethn_dv? The descriptions seem very similar, but ethn_dv_all is protected under special license. For what reasons would someone select ethn_dv_all over ethn_dv as the variable to capture ethnicity?

Hello Maya

Variables ending in “_all” are classified as part of the special licence version because they have a higher disclosure risk. Particularly, ethn_dv_all has additional ethnic groups beyond those identified by ethn_dv, which would typically be labelled as “97 any other ethnic group”.
