Description

Good afternoon,

I am a current researcher using the Understanding Society data and I'd like to use a few of your derived income variables. However, one variable that I'm interested in (fihhmnnet3_dv) is not present in the hhresp data file. Could you let me know how I can find this variable, or I need to construct it on my own? For reference, I am using Stata and it returns the error code r(111) when I try to use the variable.

Many thanks,
Mhairi Webster

Hello Mhairi,

The variable you are referring to is special licence data. For further information about access levels please refer to https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/user-guides/main-survey-user-guide/access-levels-explained. For access data please refer to https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/access-data

The specific Study where you find this variable is SN 6931 - Understanding Society: Waves 1-13, 2009-2022 and Harmonised BHPS: Waves 1-18, 1991-2009: Special Licence Access

I hope this information is helpful.
