Hello,

I am trying to look at participants' start date of their current job. In the Wave 12 questionnaire, it looks like "jbbgdat" was used, however I can't find this variable in my dataset or in the variable search tool. I looked at the jbbgd/m/y variables, but they have ~98% inapplicable responses. Was jbbgdat included in Wave 12 or any previous waves? Or is there a different variable I should be using to look at employment start dates?

Hello,

If you look at the Universe below this question in the Wave 12 questionnaire you will see who gets asked the question, and that will explain most of the inapplicable cases. I am attaching a Stata syntax file that shows this. There are however, 48 cases who were eligible but were not asked this question, 17 of them are proxy interviews, 30 web and 1 telephone. Additionally there are 4 cases (2 F2f, 2 Tel) who were not eligible but were asked these questions. We will look into these cases and get back to you.
