Description

Hi team,

I am looking to control for the region where respodents live/work at. I have found variables that allow to distinguish between England/Scotland etc, between ubran/rural but I was hoping to find maybe something giving me the county eg Lanarkshire, Cambridgeshire etc to be a bit more precise?
Do you have any recommendation?

Hello,

You need to apply for one of the geographical identifiers datasets. These datasets include only the household identifier and the geo unit in which each household is located, e.g. Local Authority District for each household. You can find the full list of geo identifiers here: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/linked-data/geographical-identifiers These are Special Licence datasets so there is a separate procedure for that which usually take up to a few weeks, please check our website for further details: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/access-data
