Description
Hello,
I work for Public Health Scotland and am developing a mental health indicator dashboard for Scotland. The dashboard will display a variety of mental health outcomes and individual, social and structural drivers. I am looking for two indicators from the Understanding Society Survey. They are:
- Adult job security
- Adults in persistent poverty
I am looking to have these for males and females separately and by Scottish Local Authority from 2011 up to the most recently available survey year. Is this something you could help me with?
Best wishes,

Dear Christina,
You can certainly get any information separately for males and females and by Scottish Local Authority. Regarding two concepts you want to measure I believe it is possible to construct these but the details depend on the definition and we leave such research decision to our users. I'd suggest checking the study documentation, particularly individual income variables (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/user-guides/main-survey-user-guide/individual-income-variables), household income variables (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/user-guides/main-survey-user-guide/household-income-variables), and employment related variables (look for "Employment" index terms here https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/index-terms). You may also find useful the study questionnaires (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/questionnaires) and the main user guide (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/user-guides/main-survey-user-guide/).
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Piotr
