openharassment variables unclear
100%
Description
Hi there,
I want to create descriptive statistics on the most common places to be insulted due to age. However, it is unclear where 'place 12' is referring to in the Harassment module (waves 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11).
The Harassment module indicates why and where people have been insulted, for example:
i_resinsulted2_1 indicates they have been insulted for their age in school (place 1)
i_resinsulted2_2 indicates they have been insulted for their age in college or university (place 2)
This pattern continues until place 11. However, there is a variable in the dataset "i_resinsulted2_12" with the label "insult place no. 12: Age". I cannot find information on which place this refers to, as the questionnaire module for wave 9 only labels places from 1-11 with place 96 indicating they haven't been insulted and place 97 indicating they were insulted in an 'other' place.
Please can you advise?

Dear Ellen,
All variables w_resinsulted(1-97)_12 refer to people who answered 1 "mentioned" on the filtering variable w_insulted97 "Other places", to see what place this was for you need to check the variable w_insultedo_code ("What other places?"). However, from what I can see in wave 9 this didn't work properly and only a handful of i_insulted97=1 were actually coded into i_insultedo_code, I suspect a fieldwork/coding error. I will investigate with our Data Team if there is a possibility to retrieve this data, but this might take some time.
Best wishes,
