Description

Dear UKHLS team,

I have a very simple question on the meaning of "other non-intw" answer to the ivfio item in the indall file.
Does it mean refusal/other reasons for not being interviewed? I need to know since I need to detail its meaning
for an analysis of non-response.

IVFIO is a summary variable derived from the more detailed IOUTCOME also in INDALL.
Some of the IVFIO=11 cases are
(1) no contact (IOUTCOME=31)
(2) "broken appointment - no recontact" (IOUTCOME=45)
(3) "other reason for no interview" (IOUTCOME=59)

A few of IOUTCOME=59 are currently away (RESIAWAY=2), but there is no additional information about the reason for their non-interview (RESREF=-9).

We are not aware of a more detailed version of this variable for BHPS that has been released.

There is a variable bW_ivrref which provides reasons for refusal that may help understanding this category of cases for BHPS.
