Description

Hi,

I am a PhD student working at the University of York. I have been using the BHPS to study working time mismatches using the hours worked variable and Preference over hours worked variable. I was hoping to extend this analysis to the Understanding society survey as well, however I have been unable to find the preferences variable. Does a similar 'Preference over hours worked' exist in understanding society? and if not is it likely that one will be added in the future.

David,
We are not planning to carry an item such as BHPS's wJBHRLK. We carry a Work Conditions module and different job satisfaction items, but we no longer ask directly about preferred number of hours.
