openoprlg1 Religion variable in BHPS/UKHLS harmonized data set contains unexplained values in wave k
100%
Description
The religious denomination variable contains values in wave k (see also website: https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/B11/datafile/bk_indresp/variable/bk_oprlg1) that do not conform to the coding frame in other waves. It is not clear to the user what values 22-27 mean, likely an artifact?

Dear Martin,
this appears to be a labeling issue due to this question having been asked only in Northern Ireland (i.e. when this sample was introduced). We will expand the code frame for the labels accordingly for the next data release (which is planned for Nov 2019).
In the meantime, please see the frequency listing of the original BHPS for the correct labels:
https://www.iser.essex.ac.uk/bhps/documentation/volb/wave11/kindresp12.html#koprlg1
Thanks for spotting it and letting us know!
Best wishes,
Gundi
