Description

Hello. From looking at the data you currently collect I can't see that it would be possible to assess how many children are living in a shared parenting arrangement, where they spend a significant amount of time (with overnight stays) with both parents. Please could you advise?

Dear Kirsty,

We ask about this topic in the child maintenance module from the point of view of how often a child in the household sees a parent living outside of the household (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/7/questionnaire-module/childmaintenance_w7), and in the family networks module, from the point of view of how often a parent in the household sees their children living outside of the household (https://www.understandingsociety.ac.uk/documentation/mainstage/dataset-documentation/wave/7/questionnaire-module/familynetworks_w7). These questions are asked in odd numbered waves.

Best wishes,
Stephanie
