Redmine Understanding Society User Support - Support #1001 (Resolved): Weights for UKHLS waves 1, 6 and 7https://iserredex.essex.ac.uk/support/issues/10012018-07-11T11:52:46ZNatalie Bennettrmjlncb@ucl.ac.uk

I currently carrying out an analysis where I am looking only at people coded 'OSM' at wave 1 who participated in waves 1, 6 and 7. I am not including those added in at wave 2 from BHPS or any other additions after this point. I am using data from x_hhresp and x_indresp as well as linking it to MSOA data. I am trying to decide which weight I need for this longitudinal analysis. Would I be correct in using 'n_indinus_lw' in this instance?

Thanks in advance

Natalie
Understanding Society User Support - Support #990 (Resolved): Neighbourhood Social Cohesion Measurehttps://iserredex.essex.ac.uk/support/issues/9902018-06-27T13:18:19ZNatalie Bennettrmjlncb@ucl.ac.uk

At waves 1, 3 and 6 the variables w_scopngbha, w_scopngbhb, w_scopngbhc, w_scopngbhd, w_scopngbhe, w_scopngbhf, w_scopngbhg, w_scopngbhh are asked in w_indresp. From what I can tell they are 8 questions from 18 written to measure neighbourhood cohesion by Buckner 1988. I was wondering if there is a reason why these questions have been chosen in particular so that I can justify why I have used these questions as a measure of neighbourhood cohesion in my work.

Thanks in advance,
