Redmine Understanding Society User Support - Support #767 (Closed): Work experience in UKHLShttps://iserredex.essex.ac.uk/support/issues/7672017-04-12T11:34:20ZSabine Hübgensabine.huebgen@wzb.eu

Dear support team,

I have a question regarding work experience in UKHLS.

I try to generate a work experience variable based on the employment history files (a_empstat and e_empstat).
My problem is to define the beginning and the end of episodes:

- there are only starty and startm, but no endy or endm. This is annoying, but would not be a big problem if we had the start information of all episodes per person.

- but: There is one spelltype 0 "current status reached, no further change", for which starty/m is always missing. This spelltype applies to 22% of all episodes.

Is there any possibility to identify the beginning of this "current status"??

Thank you,
best regards
Sabine Hübgen
Understanding Society User Support - Support #693 (Closed): conversion from national educational ...https://iserredex.essex.ac.uk/support/issues/6932017-01-03T19:21:03ZSabine Hübgensabine.huebgen@wzb.eu

Dear support team,

I am working on a German-British comparison. Therefore I need comparable information on ISCED. This variable exists in BHPS, but not in Understanding Society. As ISCED exists in BHPS there should be also some code on the conversion rules applied. Unfortunately, I cannot find it in the documentation. Can you help me out with that?

Many thanks and all the best,

Sabine
